As Greg was away preaching at Crest Bible Church I (Karl) got the opportunity to fill the pulpit. As we have been discussing discipleship over the last few weeks I've been reminded of my favorite passage on growing our Christian faith - Rom 5:1-5.
We started first with a short tangent on what I thought would be an intersting study on lining this process up with what I'd always thought of as prototypical books on discipleship - First and Second Timothy. We found that this didn't work all that well, the letters written primarily to a pastor (Timothy) weren't necessarily the best places to look for a pattern of Biblical discipleship.
We then took a walk through Rom 5:1-5 seeing how God uses our proper response to trials in our life to grow our faith in Him.
